2023 was a milestone year for Mercato. It marked our 16th year in business; saw the close of our largest growth fund ever, Traverse Fund IV, at $400,000,000; and led to the expansion of the Mercato team.
For the first time in our firm's history, we also took our Annual Meeting on the road, hosting our Limited Partners and portfolio executives at Traverse Fund III company, Vasion, in St. George, Utah—a city that is a shining example of the economic impact that the startup and venture ecosystem can make within a community.
Additionally, we:
• added more experts to our Compass network
• held more value-add salons
• travelled more miles to more cities to source, connect, and expand our networks
• met with more founders
• and hosted more events
than ever before.
On top of all of this, our investors and our portfolio companies were lauded as best-in-class.
In November, we welcomed 34 revenue and sales leaders to our CRO Summit in sunny San Clemente, CA.
In September, we lead Vivante Health's $30M Series B after a years long relationship with CEO, Bill Synder.
Over the course of the year, we traveled to 55 cities—visiting most multiple times— to source, support our portfolio companies, and expand our networks.
In October, after years of exceptional work in their Associate roles, investors Jackie Sullivan and Mei Headley were promoted to Senior Associates.
From the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 to Fast Company's Next Big Things in Tech, our portfolio companies reached applause-worthy milestones of their own.
